Our team of devoted yoga practitioners received their training at Bihar School of Yoga, in Bihar, India, and have dedicated their lives to the service of teaching yoga. We strive to provide the best possible service to our guests and students alike. Located within the lush tropical jungle -paradise of Assagao, Goa. We are minutes from the beach and just outside of the township of Mapusa in North Goa, India. Nestled in the hills of this beautiful Indian jungle, immersed in nature, our retreat center draws upon the healing power of mother nature. This immersion within creation enhances the experience of living in yoga and strengthens the connection to the higher consciousness.
Daily guided morning meditation, mantra chanting, yogic kriyas (yoga detox) and sacred fire rituals are just some of the practices which set SWAN Yoga Retreat apart from other yoga vacations in India.
From the moment you enter our yogic village you are embraced by the vibrant, lush plant life of an indigenous Indian jungle and transformed by the vibration of the yogic sadhana and yogic rituals preformed here weekly.
Here at SWAN Yoga Retreat we are surrounded by the purity of nature, and further facilitate purification of the self through a sattvic diet and balancing yoga practices scheduled daily in our beautiful outdoor yoga shala.

Yoga to us is to live in harmony with the self, with others and with the nature around us.
Our yoga vacations, yoga retreats and yoga holydays are conducted within our retreat center in Goa, India. Our focus is to obtain the right balance between mind, body and soul by creating a conducive environment and teaching appropriate and holistic yogic practices. Asana is an important aspect of yoga and we use this as a tool to understand our body, be aware of our movements and to have a healthy and flexible body. However, those who wish to use asana as a tool to build muscles, or those seeking an acrobatic or gymnastic type of practice are discouraged from joining our retreats. Our style of asana is classical hatha yoga.
The goal of a regular practice of yoga is that our life improves, not just our physical ability to perform yoga poses.
